About The NACOPRW Northern Illinois Scholarship
The National Conference of Puerto Rican Women (NACOPRW) is a proud national nonprofit with chapters across the United States, united by a singular mission: to empower Puerto Rican women all Latinas to lead, thrive, and shape the economic, social, and political landscapes of their communities—in both the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
Since its founding in 1993, NACOPRW’s Northern Illinois Chapter has been a bridge for opportunity, awarding more than 30 scholarships to extraordinary young women of Puerto Rican heritage. Our recipients have risen to become leaders in law, medicine, education, government, business, and the nonprofit sector—each carrying forward the strength, resilience, and cultural pride of the Boricua diaspora.
Rooted in Cultura and fueled by Corazón, our scholarship program is more than financial support—it is an investment in the future. We believe in breaking barriers, closing equity gaps, and ensuring that every Puerto Rican woman has the tools, resources, and network to step into her full potential as a changemaker.
Purpose
In 2025, the NACOPRW Northern Illinois Chapter Scholarship will be open to college-bound high school seniors and current college students who embody leadership, academic excellence, and a commitment to serving their community.
This year’s application period is open through October 3, 2025. By applying, students join a legacy of Latina leaders whose impact spans industries and generations—leaders who are shaping the future while honoring the richness of our heritage.
